FOBZ Photographic Competition 2011
Better and better with each passing year!
Following the phenomenal enthusiasm expressed through the several hundred entries to the 2010 competition, Friends of Banham Zoo (FOBZ) is pleased to announce the 2011 PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION. (Entries welcome from 1st May you can submit online entries from the 5th May 2011).
The display of 2010 photos remains on show at both Banham Zoo (Giraffe House) and at Africa Alive! (Reception area) to the visitor’s delight.
Those with digital cameras and are internet savvy can email their entries directly to FOBZ via the website and pay the competition entry fees via PayPal! through this website. Photos are still welcome by post too!
We will display the photo entries on large widescreen television monitors at Banham Zoo and at Africa Alive! coupled to computers. An ever changing selection of all submitted photos will be displayed as a matter of course, however visitors will be able to select the various categories and individual photos via the computer terminals.
To ensure that every photo submitted can be enjoyed by a wide audience, the photos will also be added to this website.
Prized Photos!
There is only one stipulation as to the subject for the photograph(s) - the picture must have been taken at Banham Zoo or at Africa Alive! There is after all a wonderful rich variety of beautiful and unusual animals to choose from!
Three age groups:
1. Junior Under 13’s
2. Teenage 3 - 19 (inclusive) years of age
3. Adult 20 years of age & over
Prizes a plenty!
The WINNER in each category will receive £50 and the choice of a season ticket to either Banham Zoo or Africa Alive!
The 2nd and 3rd placing in each category will each receive £10 plus the choice of a family ticket to either Banham Zoo or Africa Alive!
The ‘Highly Commended’ 4th placing in each category will received the choice of a family ticket to either Banham Zoo or Africa Alive!
Competition Rules:
The Competition is open to all from the 1st May and entries will be accepted up to and including the 26th September 2011.
Winners will be notified on or by the 26th October 2011.
Entries may be submitted as digital images directly on this website* or by post to FOBZ c/o Banham Zoo, Banham, Norfolk NR16 2HE. Photo Competition entry forms are available on the FOBZ website for on line completion or as a download for postal entries. Entry forms are also available from the reception offices at each park, or by post accompanied by a stamped addressed envelope.
There is an entry fee of £3.50 per photograph submitted. Payment to accompany entry(s) submitted. Cheques to be payable to The Friends of Banham Zoo please.
Printed photographs not to be more than 8” x 5” (200mm x 130mm).
Printed photographs must be clearly identified on the reverse with the name and address of the photographer, the age of the photographer for the Junior and Teenage categories, the park where the photograph was taken and into which age category the photograph is to be placed and judged.
We regret that submitted photographs will not be returned at the end of the competition unless specifically requested and a stamped addressed envelope supplied.
It is the intention that images will be used by FOBZ, Banham Zoo and Africa Alive! to promote conservation, education and marketing either directly or through the sale of products containing the images to raise funds for those purposes.
