The Friends of Banham Zoo is a charitable Association that was formed in 1996 to promote the breeding, care and conservation of wildlife at Banham Zoo and to encourage and develop public interest in, and an awareness of, the importance of ensuring the survival of species and the diversity of life.

The Association aims to raise awareness and funds for conservation projects within Banham Zoo and to also support conservation in the wild.

FOBZ is managed by a Committee which meets quarterly to discuss current projects, fundraising events and to put forward new ideas for raising awareness of the world’s wildlife heritage.

Support for the conservation of vulnerable wildlife is high on the Association’s agenda and you can read about some of the many projects we have donated funds and support to on this website.

Conservation, Education & Research are the three main aims of any good zoo and Banham Zoo is no exception. With the many advances in zoo enclosure design, breeding facilities and breeding programmes, the FOBZ provides the vital foundation Banham Zoo requires to further enhance their conservation and educational role and to raise that vital awareness of the flora and fauna that need our support throughout the world.
